ASHMORE on the Gold Coast was abuzz with excitement as Guardian Angels’ students and staff celebrated the most important people in their lives – mothers.
Staff and students put on a great feed as they spoilt all their mums at the annual Mothers Day Breakfast held at the school.
The school served up a scrumptious continental breakfast of fruit, yogurt, mini muffins, croissants and biscotti to the mothers, who thoroughly enjoyed being spoilt by the children and staff.
Assistant Principal for Religious Education Michael Lister said over the past few years the Guardian Angels’ Mothers Day breakfast had become very popular with the mums and children.
Michael said every year it just seemed to get bigger and better and it was great to see all the mums being spoilt.
He said it was also a wonderful way to say thank you to all the mums for all their hard work over the school year.
Once breakfast was finished the mums were entertained by the boys choir, the senior band and the Prep and Year 5 students, who performed a special song and spoke about why their Mum’s were so special to them.
There were not too many dry eyes left at the end of the performance.
Following the musical performances Prep mums were invited back to the Prep classrooms where they were pampered for the day.
Part of the pampering package included a neck, shoulder, back, hand and foot massage by the preppies.
Prep Mum Melinda Laurence said the day was just beautiful.
Melinda, who bought her own mum to the celebrations, said it was very special to have three generations together celebrating Mothers Day and to spend time with her daughter Chantize.
Melinda said she was also looking forward to spending many more such happy days at Guardian Angels’.
