St Benedict’s College is a co-educational Catholic secondary college that will serve the Pine Rivers region, opening in 2013.
St Benedict’s College is committed to providing high quality contemporary education in a Christian context. The college will support and encourage all students to become successful learners, confident and creative individuals and active and informed citizens, fully enabled to contribute to the life of their faith community and society.
College ethos
Benedict taught moderation in all things; the dignity of work; drawing closer to God through the renewal of the mind, placing a strong emphasis on learning and scholastic disciplines.
The college exemplifies a strong Benedictine charism and will seek to engage with Saint Benedict’s rules of obedience, humility, and contemplation which provide an invaluable model for anyone desiring to live more simply. They provide guidance and inspiration for anyone seeking peace and fulfilment in their home and work communities and present a contemporary model for living with issues facing us now ~ stewardship, relationships, authority, community, balance, work, simplicity and prayer.
