Twelve Brisbane Catholic Education schools will be tuning up for an epic showdown at the 2024 Battle of the ROCK Bands from 3 to 5 October.
Founded by BCE’s Clairvaux MacKillop College, the three-day musical extravaganza, which also includes 18 other schools from across South East Queensland, will see students battling for the titles of Most Outstanding Musicians and Most Outstanding Band Performance.
With the spotlight on talent, rhythm, and school spirit, get ready for a showdown that promises to hit all the right notes.
Clairvaux MacKillop College Acting Principal Angela Thomas said, the event, which attracts thousands of enthusiasts every year, “provides our young musicians a stage to showcase their talent, passion, and dedication - with some fun competition”.
“It’s also a chance for them to gain invaluable real-world experience with industry professionals both in performing and in various roles that make live music production possible,” she said.
“We’re ready to welcome the crowds to see who will rock the stage to take home the top honours.”
Clairvaux MacKillop College’s Battle of the ROCK Bands also took centre stage at the Queensland Music Awards in April 2024, where the event was shortlisted in the top three of the state for the esteemed People’s Choice Music Festival Award.
The Battle of the ROCK Bands event was created in 2017 by Teacher John Daly and Audio-Visual Technician Timothy Hondroudakis.
