This month a special group of School Pastoral Workers from different religious orders joined with BCE Executive Director Dr Sally Towns for morning tea to acknowledge their service and contribution to Brisbane Catholic Education.

The Pastoral Workers were invited to Brisbane Catholic Education (BCE) Office at Woolloongabba to show appreciation for their service - which includes a commitment to a ministry that values the dignity and potential of individuals within school communities.

BCE Executive Director Dr Sally Towns said the pastoral workers, many of whom have worked as school principals at one time, make a huge difference in the lives of students and their families.

“School Pastoral Workers walk with students, particularly the marginalised and disadvantaged, through the course of their lives at school and anchor us to our mission to be a faith-filled learning community,” she said.

“They hold a rich history within our schools, with those in this photo having a combined 190 years of service to Catholic Education.

“It was truly an incredible experience to meet with these Pastoral Workers who have been making an impact on the lives of BCE students.

“I would like to acknowledge and show gratitude to these women for their ongoing contribution and service to BCE."
