​One of Ipswich's newest schools St Ann's Redbank Plains today unveiled an array of brand-new leading-edge infrastructure taking their innovative primary school into a league of its own.

Brisbane Catholic Education (BCE) school is delivering new facilities as part of a stage two development valued at $2.4M, including a performing arts room, multi-purpose room, and Block D comprising of four high-tech primary classrooms.

These facilities were officially opened and blessed on Friday 27 May 2022 with special guests in attendance including BCE Deputy Executive Director Dr Doug Ashleigh, Auxiliary Bishop Ken Howell, Fr Mauro Conte from Our Lady of the Southern Cross Parish, Federal Member for Blair Hon Shayne Neumann, Deputy Mayor Ipswich City Council Jacob Marsden, and Minister of Education representative Lance McCallum MP, Member for Bundamba.

“We are extremely grateful for the State Government's contributions to our open and contemporary learning environments," said Foundation Principal Sonny Smith.

“Our vision statement calls us to 'be who we are dreamed to be' and with our stage two development, the dreaming can become a reality."

Redbank Plains is a fast-growing area in Ipswich, and the stage two development means the school can now offer classes from Prep to Year 6 in 2023, as well as meet the diverse needs and aspirations of St Ann's students.

Outdoor learning spaces is another feature of the development, built to accompany classrooms to suit different learning styles.

Students will also enjoy a new STEAM Learning Area to engage in learning experiences across science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics, supported by a 1:1 technology program including Apple iPads for Years 4 and up.

Block D will host Year 3, 4 and 5 students utilising four modern classrooms with flexible furniture, data projectors and more.

The Performing Arts Room has been purpose-built for music and drama with sound proofing and stage seating for class performances, all air-conditioned for comfort whilst learning.

The school first opened its doors in January 2020 to 98 Prep-Year 3 students, growing to 280 students in Prep-Year 5 in 2022.
