Making it into the top 10 worldwide for the Mercy Global Emerging Leaders’ Fellowship program, has thrust Jess Marshall into the spotlight, also garnering her a nomination into the Spirit of Catholic Education Awards 2024. As the Assistant Principal Religious Education (APRE) at All Saints Primary School Albany Creek, she will embark on the fully funded Mercy Global Emerging Leaders’ Fellowship in 2025, an international leadership program empowering women who are dedicated to advancing Mercy and social justice initiatives.
Through immersive experiences in Cambodia, New York, and Dublin, Jess will engage in projects and research aimed at addressing global issues facing communities and build capacity to be an agent of change in her own community and greater society.
All Saints Primary School Principal Roycelyn Wilden said this endeavour closely aligns with the ethos of the Spirit of Catholic Education Awards, which opened for nominations on 25 March.
"Jess is a natural fit for a nomination into the Spirit of Catholic Education Awards,” she said.
"She epitomises the essence of the Spirit of Catholic Education Awards through her remarkable leadership and steadfast commitment to promoting Mercy action and championing social justice initiatives.
"She exemplifies a profound commitment to deepening the understanding of the Mercy charism, upon which our school is founded.
“Her remarkable contributions consistently enrich the lives of our students and the broader school community every day."
All Saints Primary School APRE Jess Marshall said she is honoured and excited about the prospect of the Mercy Global Emerging Leaders’ Fellowship.

“Through this experience, I hope to gain skills to cultivate a community of Mercy and justice and empower the next generation who will in turn become our voices of advocacy and catalysts for positive change in the future.”

About the Spirit of Catholic Education Awards:
The Spirit of Catholic Education Awards are presented annually in conjunction with Catholic Education Week (CEW) to celebrate outstanding contributions to Catholic education in Queensland.
Each year nominations are received from Catholic school communities across the State, highlighting the important work being undertaken by staff, parents, carers, and volunteers who support Catholic school students.
Nominees, including teams, are recognised across a number of categories for excellence in their work, leadership, service, initiative and creating positive change for indigenous students.
