Trinity College Beenleigh is achieving much more than just great student results.

The Brisbane Catholic Education (BCE) school has been recognised at this year’s annual Australian Education Awards 2022, taking home an Excellence Award for Secondary School of the Year (Non-Government).

The BCE school was nominated for exceeding the student outcomes average across the Beaudesert and Logan region and is being recognised for the work the school is doing to create student pathways beyond the college.

To add to the school’s success, Trinity College VET and Pathways Leader Alicki Campbell also won an Excellence Award for Department Head of the Year.

Trinity College School Principal Christopher Raju said over the past three years the college has continually improved the learning outcomes for students in the Beenleigh and wider Logan area.

“At Trinity College, we go beyond the classroom. In the 2020 cohort our school saw 69.3 percent of students exit directly into further education or training and 28 percent into employment,” Principal Raju said.

“Our results show that our students exiting into full-time employment or further study exceed the Logan-Beaudesert region and Queensland average by almost 20 percent.

“Much of this comes down to the targeted personalised pathways program that we’ve created at Trinity College.

“Our school focuses as much on innovative teaching and what is happening in the classroom, as it does to prepare students for life after school.
“With a large subject suite and certification offering available to our students, we are able to cater for our student needs and growing areas of employment.

“It is a huge accomplishment to see our school recognised for exceeding student outcomes after school, as part of the Australian Education Awards 2022.

“At Trinity College we pride ourselves on preparing our students for the real world, and I am so proud to see both our school and teachers recognised for preparing students for beyond the classroom.”
