The formal commemoration event on Friday, 17 October, held on campus, celebrated the school’s alignment with the values and traditions of the Marist Brothers, who have inspired generations of Catholic school children across Australia and the world. Our Lady of the Rosary School Principal Paul Rees expressed his pride and excitement about the school’s new chapter. “Becoming part of the Marist Schools Network is both an honour and a natural progression for Our Lady of the Rosary,” said Mr Rees. “The Marist charism emphasises simplicity, presence and love of work, which resonates deeply with our school’s mission and culture. “This partnership strengthens our commitment to nurturing students not just academically, but spiritually and socially.” The event was attended by representatives from Marist Schools Australia, local clergy, staff, students and families, with a special liturgy and presentation to mark the occasion. The school community reflected on the legacy of Saint Marcellin Champagnat, founder of the Marist Brothers, and the enduring values of humility, compassion and service. “This is more than a symbolic moment, it’s a reaffirmation of who we are and who we aspire to be - a community that walks gently with one another, guided by faith and inspired by Mary’s example,” said Mr Rees. The school looks forward to deepening its Marist identity in the years ahead, continuing to provide a nurturing and inclusive environment where every child is known and loved. Our Lady of the Rosary School is one of several Brisbane Catholic Education schools connected with Marist Schools Australia, forming part of a wider network that enables collaboration, resource sharing, and staff and student development.
