The Tell Them From Me survey is now open, providing a valuable opportunity to listen to the voices of our students, teacher and parents.
Open from 5 May to 29 May 2026, the survey provides important information about how we are tracking against key goals in Brisbane Catholic Education’s Education Strategy regarding staff and student voice, engagement, sense of belonging and safety at school.
BCE Lead Education Advisor - Student Engagement and Wellbeing, Stephen Muller said data from the survey helped to develop a holistic understanding of student wellbeing and engagement across our schools.
“TTFM provides reliable, evidence-based data that supports school improvement planning and is embedded across BCE and broader education strategies,” Stephen said.
“Strong engagement makes a real difference, and we are aiming for an 85 percent participation from eligible Year 4 to 12 students, and a high level of engagement from teachers and parents.”
“Higher participation improves the quality, reliability and usefulness of the data, helping schools to better understand what is working well and where further support is needed.”
Mt Maria College Petrie Principal Kerry Maher said the survey had been instrumental in shaping meaningful change at the school.
“The Tell Them From Me survey provides our school community with reliable student voice data that strengthens our understanding of student wellbeing, belonging and engagement,” Kerry said.
“It supports evidence informed decision making by helping us identify strengths and trends across year levels, track improvement over time and respond with targeted initiatives.”
Kerry said feedback from students has led to tangible improvements across the school.
“In response to student safety data, we introduced the Rock and Water wellbeing program in our middle years to build resilience,” she said.
“We also strengthened our extended pastoral programs to focus on self-esteem and advocacy, and introduced our Year 7 LINKS program, a peer-to-peer initiative supported by senior students, to build belonging, confidence and engagement for younger students.”
Principal of Our Lady of Mount Carmel School, Coorparoo, Warren Fields said the Tell Them From Me survey provided key feedback to reflect on practice.
“The survey gives voice to all members of our community including parents, staff and most importantly our students,” Warren said.
“This foundational data is considered in the formulation of our strategic documents, including our Safeguarding Policy, Catholic Identity and school culture initiatives along with our learning agenda.”
“The Tell Them From Me survey allows us to annually update this data and reflect on our strengths, areas of growth and identify future areas for improvement.”
By taking part in TTFM, school communities play a key role in shaping informed, responsive and supportive learning environments for every student.
“Participation is encouraged for all schools, with time allocated for staff and students to complete the survey,” Stephen said.
“A suite of marketing resources is also available to help schools promote the survey and encourage strong parent participation, including on-demand webinars and other resources.”
