Brisbane Catholic Education (BCE) educator Dr. Maynard Victor Erece has been recognised among Australia's Most Influential Educators 2026, joining a distinguished group of educational leaders who are helping shape the future of Australian schooling.
The Clairvaux MacKillop College, Upper Mount Gravatt STEM and Academic Excellence Coordinator joins 41 other educators on the list.

How do students learn?
Over the past several years, Dr. Erece's research and professional work have centred on developing AXIOMS, a framework that aims to support educators, parents, and students in making sense of the learning journey.
Dr. Erece said his work is driven by a belief that improving educational outcomes begins with a deeper understanding of how learning develops over time, and how schools, families, and communities can work together to support that growth.
“By bringing together insights from research and practice, AXIOMS aims to help parents, educators, and learners better understand the developmental journey from curiosity to contribution,” he said.
Clairvaux MacKillop College Principal Wayne Chapman said this recognition is a testament to his commitment to understanding how students learn.
“Through his research, writing, and engagement with educators and families around the world, he has made a significant contribution to conversations about the future of learning and how we can better support young people to thrive,” he said.
“We are incredibly proud to have his expertise and leadership within the Clairvaux MacKillop community.”
Beyond his research, Dr. Erece shares his insights with a broader audience through his contributions to Age of Awareness, an online publication focused on learning, human development and the future of education.
Through his articles, Dr. Erece helps educators, parents, and carers better understand how children learn and develop, translating educational research into practical ideas that can be applied at home and in the classroom.
As part of his ongoing commitment to strengthening partnerships between schools and families, Dr. Erece recently launched the AXIOMS Education and Parenting Community in Springfield Central.
The initiative provides a collaborative space where the school and the home can explore evidence-informed approaches to learning, child-development, and responsible engagement with artificial intelligence in education.
Completing this initiative, he has also published the book AXIOMS: Your Child’s Learning Journey from Roots to Fruits as a parenting guidebook offering practical strategies and insights to help parents support their children’s academic, emotional, and personal growth through the AXIOMS Framework.

“Your encouragement has shaped not only my thinking but also the purpose behind this work.”
Dr. Erece was also awarded The Educator’s Secondary School Teacher of the Year (Non-Government) in both 2025 and 2026 and was also recognised as one of The Educator’s Hot List Top 40 Educators in 2025.
Clairvaux MacKillop College also secured The Educator’s Street Science Best STEM Program award, while Curriculum Leader Science, Katrina Dalglish was also named Department Head of the Year in 2026.
