Double the learning as three sets of twins begin their schooling journey

From matching uniforms to matching smiles, these six students were doubly excited for their first day of school at Our Lady of Good Counsel School, Gatton (Wednesday 28 January).

That’s because the Prep cohort will see not one, not two, but three sets of twins, (Elijah and Aria, Zelda and Renee, and Nik and Nia) in 2026! 

Our Lady of Good Counsel School Parent Jacinta Pinnell said her twins Aria and Elijah are “so excited for big school".

“They ask many questions, like what happens at big school and if their friends will be there as well,” she said.

“They love wearing their uniforms and practice carrying their bags on their back. 

“They have started packing and unpacking their bags and helping put foods together for their lunch boxes.

“They also can't stop talking about the big playground and how tall it is.”

Jacinta adds, “we are pretty lucky to have twins, because we know they have each other and that makes separation so much easier, for us and for them.”

Our Lady of Good Counsel School Principal Clare Hogan said, “having three sets of twins is a bonus for our close-knit school community”.

“Twins embody a unique togetherness, much like the unity we all feel within our school community,” she said.

“This closeness makes them the perfect fit for our school community.

“These three sets of twins remind our school community that joy multiplies when shared.”

Clare adds, “it’s rare enough to see one set of twins start Prep, but three sets in one small town is something we haven’t seen before”.

"It’s truly unique, and a blessing to our cohort of Preps in 2026,” she said. 

“To our Preps, your journey begins today, side by side, hand in hand.“With three sets of twins, your class is doubly joyful and triply blessed this year.”
