“Choosing a school is one of the most important decisions a family will make,” – St Bonaventure’s College, Flagstone Foundation Principal Anthony Elmore.

The opening of St Bonaventure’s College in January of this year has brought a welcome new choice for Flagstone families looking for a Christ-centred learning community creating a hope-filled future.

Mother Jessica Hammond said St Bonaventure’s College was her School of Choice for daughter Gracie, in Prep.

“We chose the College for Gracie because the values of joy, courage and love really resonated with our family,” she said.

“As soon as Gracie met Mr Elmore, she felt an immediate sense of belonging and knew this College was for her.

“Gracie is so eager to learn and knowing the school has high expectations of its learners reassured us that this was the right place for her love of learning to grow.”

Faith, Hope, Love

Foundation Principal Anthony Elmore said they were already so much more than just a new school, but a College community grounded in the values of joy, courage and love.

“Central to the life of the College are the values which guide every interaction, decision and learning experience,” he said.

“Joy is found in the wonder of learning and in recognising God’s presence in all of creation.

“Courage inspires students to live their faith through action and service, to face challenges with confidence, and to stand up for what is right.

“As a Catholic College in the Franciscan tradition, we are dedicated to developing a genuine love of God, of self, and of neighbour, shaping a culture where every student is respected, valued and supported.”

Known by name

Anthony said parents were choosing the College because they wanted their children to be known as individuals.

“The College is committed to respecting each person’s God given uniqueness, ensuring every student feels a strong sense of belonging,” he said.

“It is a community where students are not lost in the crowd, but encouraged to flourish through care, connection and high expectations.”

‘To Know and to Love’

Anthony said, “our College motto, ‘To Know and To Love,’ captures the heart of a St Bonaventure’s College education.”

“It reflects a belief that education is about far more than academic achievement alone,” he said.

“In partnership with our families, we aim to form confident young people of competence, compassion, and commitment, young people ready to make a difference in our world.”
