St Bonaventure’s College, Flagstone, marked a significant milestone today with the blessing and official opening of the College on the Feast Day of St Bonaventure, bringing the community together in faith and celebration.

Foundation Principal Anthony Elmore said the occasion was a powerful moment in the life of the College, reflecting its strong beginnings and shared sense of purpose.

“Our community has been built on the belief that every child is known by name and deeply valued,” Anthony said.

“Celebrating the blessing of our College on the Feast Day of St Bonaventure reminds us of our calling to grow in faith, wisdom and service together.”

In its foundation year, the College has focused on building a deeply connected and welcoming environment where students and families feel a genuine sense of belonging.

This commitment has been reflected in everyday interactions, from personal greetings to strong partnerships with families.

“Some of the most important moments in a school day happen in those first connections,” Anthony said.

“Taking the time to build relationships has helped shape the strong and supportive community we are so proud of.”

Across Semester 1, a sense of purpose has been evident in classrooms, on the playground, and in the broader life of the College, as students have embraced opportunities to contribute, achieve and support one another.

Today’s celebration highlighted the College’s 2026 theme, ‘Called by Name’, reinforcing the belief that each student is uniquely known and supported to flourish.

As the College continues to grow, the Blessing and Opening marks both a moment of gratitude and a hopeful step forward for the Flagstone community.

Demand for enrolment is rapidly increasing, with waiting lists now in place for several year levels in the Junior School.

“We are seeing an extraordinary response from families who are seeking a Catholic education that is grounded in strong relationships, high expectations and a genuine sense of community,” Anthony said.

“It is a privilege to be part of such a hope-filled and growing community.”

The Queensland Government has contributed $26.006 million through the State Capital Assistance Scheme and External Infrastructure Subsidy Scheme to assist with this project.
