Teach, Challenge and Transform Tomorrow Scholarship: For current University Students
Brisbane Catholic Education (BCE) is committed to building a talented and high-performance workforce, offering scholarships to reduce financial barriers in undertaking study.
All applicants are encouraged to apply with the following criteria given preference:
- Commitment to teach at rural and regional BCE schools, including but not limited to:
- Kingaroy, Childers, Gayndah, Nanango and Murgon
- Lockyer Valley - Gatton, Laidley, Plainland
- Scenic Rim and Logan - Beaudesert, Boonah, Jimboomba
- Commitment to teach high-demand subject areas including Science, Technologies, Maths, English, Humanities, Religious Education and Industrial Technologies.
Benefits
- Successful applicants will receive up to $5,000 tuition support for each remaining year of teacher training (maximum $20,000).
- A teaching position in a BCE school or college
Scholarship Criteria
To be eligible for consideration of the scholarship, applicants must:
- have permanent Australian residency status
- in 2025 be enrolled in a teaching degree in an approved initial teacher education course; if a primary course the applicant must be Catholic; if a secondary course, it is preferred the applicant be Catholic.
- applicants who specialise in any subject areas may apply; however, preference will be given to applicants who specialise in priority subject areas and are willing to work in priority locations
- If relevant, provide transcripts of successful completion of all previous semesters of teaching degree including practicum reports
- if required, obtain a Positive Notice Blue Card, and/or undergo a criminal history check
- acknowledge that ongoing payment of scholarship benefits is subject to evidence of satisfactory consistent academic results, sound practicum reports and university attendance over the duration of the course
- make a commitment to teach in a BCE school or college

- Shortlisted applicants will be invited to an interview with BCE staff
- Successful applicants will be required to sign a written agreement with BCE which outlines the terms and conditions of the Scholarship

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Scholarship: For Current University Students
Brisbane Catholic Education (BCE) offers scholarships to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students who are enrolled in a teaching degree at a University campus.
Benefits
- Successful applicants will receive up to $5,000 tuition support for each remaining year of teacher training (maximum $20,000).
- A teaching position in a BCE school/college
Scholarship Criteria
To be eligible for consideration of the scholarship, applicants must:
- identify as Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander or both
- have permanent Australian residency status
- in 2025 be enrolled in a teaching degree in an approved initial teacher education course; if a primary course the applicant must be Catholic; if a secondary course, it is preferred the applicant be Catholic.
- provide transcripts of successful completion of all previous semesters of teaching degree including practicum reports
- if required, obtain a Positive Notice Blue Card, and/or undergo a criminal history check

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Scholarship: For Current Year 12 Students
Brisbane Catholic Education (BCE) offers scholarships to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students who are current Year 12 students (2024) at a Catholic school in Queensland and are interested in a career in primary or secondary teaching.
Benefits
- Financial assistance in the first year of university study (maximum $2,000) for initial study costs. This will be discussed with individual students on application.
- Successful applicants will receive up to $5,000 tuition support for each year of primary or secondary education study (maximum $20,000).
- A teaching position in a BCE school/college
Scholarship Criteria
To be eligible for consideration of the scholarship, applicants must:
- identify as Aboriginal, Torres Strait Islander or both
- have permanent Australian residency status
- be currently completing Year 12 in 2025
- intend to apply for a teaching degree in an approved initial teacher education course, if a primary course the applicant myst be Catholic, if a secondary course, it is preferred the applicant be Catholic.
- provide evidence of sound Year 11 and Year 12 school reports
- if required, obtain a Positive Notice Blue Card, and/or undergo a criminal history check
- make a commitment to teach in a BCE school/college
- acknowledge that ongoing payment of scholarship benefits is subject to evidence of satisfactory consistent academic results, sound practicum reports and university attendance over the duration of the course
