Training for Volunteers and Third Parties

​​​Welcome to Brisbane Catholic Education and thank you for joining our community.

As a volunteer or a third party engaged in our community, you have an important role to play in supporting us to create and maintain safe and supportive environments for everyone in our community.  

There are steps you need to take, prior to engaging as a volunteer or third party on one of our sites. This includes undertaking training that will inform you of the standards of behaviour and other requirements that must be adhered to when delivering services within our community.

Volunteers 

Each year, volunteers are required to:  

  1. Complete the Volunteer Training (click here for link to online module) 
  2. Read the Volunteer Code of Conduct 
  3. Complete a Volunteer Registration and Declaration Form (accessed at the end of the training) 
  4. Print and share the Volunteer Registration and Declaration Form with each school or office you will be engaged as a volunteer.

​​Third Parties ​

Each year, specific Third Parties are required to:  

  1. Complete the Third Party Training (click here for link to online module) 
  2. Read the Third Party Safeguarding Requirements​
  3. Complete a Third Party Registration and Declaration Form (accessed at the end of the training) 
  4. Print and share the Third Party Registration and Declaration Form with each school or office you engage with. 
 
As of 31 August 2020, a person cannot undertake volunteer work or enter into regulated employment if the person is: 
  • A negative notice holder disqualified from holding a Blue Card under the Working with Children Act (Risk Management and Screening) Act 2000 
  • A person with a current suspended Blue Card under the provisions of the Working with Children Act (Risk Management and Screening) Act 2000 
  • A disqualified person within the meaning of the Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act 2000 
  • A person with a charge for a disqualifying offence within the meaning of Working with Children (Risk Management and Screening) Act 2000.
