Welcome from the Executive Director

Since the first Catholic school opened its doors in 1845 to just 56 students in the Brisbane CBD, hundreds of thousands of students have enjoyed the benefits of a Catholic education in schools stretching across the Archdiocese – from the Gold to Fraser Coasts and inland to the Lockyer Valley and Burnett region.

Today, Catholic schools are at the forefront of the Church's mission of serving and supporting the people of the Archdiocese of Brisbane. We are conscious that, for many, the Catholic school is their primary connection with the Church.

As the 5th Executive Director of Catholic Education in the Archdiocese, it is my honour to work with a dedicated team of teaching, support and administrative staff in more than 146 schools across south-east Queensland. Every one of us is committed to providing a high quality, Christ-centred, inclusive education to all our students. I invite you to browse through this website to learn more about our community of schools and our approach to education.

We are entrusted with a great responsibility to shape the minds and souls of the young people in our care. It is a responsibility we embrace with commitment and passion. We see parents as partners in their child's education and look forward to engaging with you as we undertake the important work of teaching, challenging and transforming our future leaders and citizens.
