With building in progress and anticipation growing for Flagstone’s newest Catholic school, the community welcomes its first Head of College, who will help shape its future.

Nadia Galetto has been appointed as the Foundation Head of College at St Bonaventure’s College, bringing heartfelt community spirit and a vision that will shape lives for generations to come.

New beginnings

As she prepares for an exciting adventure, Nadia said, “I keep having flashes of what the school could be”.

“The opportunity to work with families, staff, and the community to build something from scratch that is part of something larger is truly inspiring,” she said.

“I am excited to watch our foundation students shape St Bonaventure’s College.
“They are the school, and they will always be part of its story.

St Bonaventure’s College, led by Foundation Principal Anthony Elmore, will embrace an innovative approach to learning that puts students in the driver’s seat.

“Anthony and I want students to feel in control of their learning,” Nadia said.

“By focusing on critical and creative thinking, we will help students explore, be curious, and bring their ideas to life.

“When students are engaged, attendance and confidence improve, and learning is joyful.”

Embracing the Franciscan tradition

The appointment at St Bonaventure’s College “feels like a calling” for Nadia.

“I’ve felt a connection to the Franciscan tradition from a young age,” she said.

“The values of simplicity, peace, and service have always resonated with me, and when this opportunity came up, it felt like a calling.”

St Bonaventure’s College Foundation Principal Anthony Elmore said, “with a strong background in Catholic education and a passion for student wellbeing, Nadia brings a wealth of experience and a nurturing leadership style.”

Construction update

Anthony adds, “construction at the College site is progressing at an impressive pace under the keen guidance of the Rohrig team”.

“The Middle Years precinct, a key component of Stage 1, is nearing completion,” he said.

“This area will house cutting-edge Science and Technology laboratories, flexible learning spaces, and a vibrant Arts hub designed to inspire creativity and innovation.

“The College’s state-of-the-art covered sports courts and expansive playing fields are also well underway, promising students a dynamic environment for physical education and team sports.

“These facilities are not just about physical sports - they are spaces where resilience and College spirit will be built.”

Uniform design

Recently, the College unveiled its Uniform Wardrobe Collection, designed in collaboration with Uniform Management Services and with valuable insights from the Student Uniform Advisory Committee.

The collection blends tradition with modern comfort, offering students a wardrobe that reflects the College’s values of Joy, Courage, and Love.

The uniform includes a smart formal option, a practical and breathable sports kit, and a carefully considered wardrobe that caters to Queensland’s climate. The colour palette echoes the College’s identity and connection to the Catholic tradition.
