New initiative launches during Bullying No Way Week to support students, families, and the wider community

St Joseph’s College, Coomera is proud to announce an important partnership with Cybernetic Shield, a leading Australian company specialising in online safety solutions. This collaboration aims to help provide students, parents, and staff with essential tools and support to effectively address and prevent online bullying.

The announcement comes at a critical time, as schools across Australia mark Bullying No Way Week – the nation’s flagship anti-bullying initiative. With the 2025 theme, “Be bold. Be kind. Speak up.”, St Joseph’s College reaffirms its ongoing commitment to creating a safe and nurturing environment for every learner.

Principal Paul Easton expressed the college’s dedication to student wellbeing: “We are committed to ensuring the safety of our students and families, and we recognise that bullying, in any form, is not acceptable. Cyberbullying allows bullies into our children’s bedrooms and headspace 24/7. By partnering with Cybernetic Shield, we can provide better tools to help prevent and respond to these incidents.”

As part of the partnership, St Joseph’s College will implement Cybernetic Shield’s 24/7 Cyber Incident Helpline. This invaluable service will empower students and parents to report cyberbullying incidents the moment they occur, and receive immediate expert guidance, practical advice, and ongoing support. The helpline will ensure that families never have to face these challenges alone.

Furthermore, to foster an informed and resilient school community, St Joseph’s will collaborate with Cybernetic Shield to deliver contemporary online safety education. Teachers will be equipped with up-to-date lesson modules spanning Prep to Year 12, tailored to each age group, and supported by take-home information for parents. This comprehensive approach ensures that all stakeholders – students, parents, and educators – are equipped with the latest knowledge and strategies to help stay safe and positive online.

“At St Joseph’s, we believe that speaking out against bullying is everyone’s responsibility,” Principal Easton added. “We must work together as a community to address bullying behaviours, both in and out of schools, and our partnership with Cybernetic shield helps to empower our community to speak up.”

Through proactive reporting, education, and community engagement, St Joseph’s College and Cybernetic Shield are united in their mission and support of the national anti-bullying initiatives: to be bold, be kind, and speak up for a safe online world for all.
