Brisbane Catholic Education (BCE) is introducing an online Buying Platform to improve the overall purchasing experience using a modern and intuitive eProcurement platform and make it easier to do business with BCE.

We have partnered with Unimarket, an industry leading organisation of core purchasing systems, to provide a seamless user-friendly Buying Platform that will ensure consistency in purchases across all schools and operating units.

Unimarket is a cloud-based procurement platform which will streamline a range of quoting and ordering processes for our suppliers.

What are the benefits to suppliers?

Customer Service / Account Management

  • Suppliers and customers benefit from increased buyer visibility, compliance to contracts, process efficiency, quicker payment, and fewer issues/exceptions.

  • Along with the efficiencies gained by using Unimarket, the cost and resources involved in procurement are reduced, allowing customers and Suppliers to concentrate on targeting/eliminating maverick spending and increasing compliance and preferred Supplier throughput.

  • Unimarket promotes contract compliance and best practice.

Automation

  • Unimarket offers hosted catalogues, punchouts, and structured RFQ/RFX's instead of phone calls, faxes, and intermittent emails.

  • Immediate invoice matching for customers means that Suppliers are often paid quicker.

Accuracy

  • Significant reduction in errors and downstream matching issues when the right product or service is purchased at the right price, at the right time.

  • Product and service information, availability, and pricing are maintained by Suppliers.

Consistency

  • One formal business process to support many customers instead of variable informal ones per buyer.

  • One channel to sell through instead of many erratic ones for the same customers.

Compliance

  • BCE (the customer) can access a 'one‐stop' shop rather than going to many supplier websites.

  • All on-account purchases go through a controlled channel.

Existing BCE suppliers will receive an email invitation from Unimarket to register company/business details on the Unimarket supplier marketplace. Supplier registration will occur in stages between June - December 2023.
