Brisbane Catholic Education (BCE) will see 4000 graduates walk out the school gates for the last time today (Friday, 21 November).
With 13 years of schooling behind them, the graduates of 2025 are ready to take on their next adventure beyond school.
A world beyond the school gates
Mary MacKillop College, Nundah Mission Captain Giselle Grace said she feels “anticipation and excitement” as she prepares to leave the College gates.
“Next year I will be attending the Australian Defence Force Academy to study Aeronautical Engineering to become Mission Aircrew in the Royal Australian Air Force,” she said.
“Mary MacKillop College has taught me that success and achievement are about what happens when we come together for something bigger than ourselves, it's about the change that we can make together.
“Mary MacKillop College enables me to act with responsibility, to advocate, and to make a difference wherever I can.”
Global citizens who give back
Mary MacKillop College Principal Erin Wedge said as the graduating class of 2025 prepares to graduate, “we are filled with immense pride in the remarkable people you have become”.
“Your journey has been one of growth, resilience and deep compassion, qualities that will serve you as you step into the world beyond school,” she said.
“I hope you carry with you the courage to lead with integrity, the curiosity to keep learning, and the heart to serve others with kindness.”
Passion and purpose
Erin joins many other Principals in their final well-wishes for our graduating students.
Assisi Catholic College, Upper Coomera Principal John Frare said his hope for every Year 12 student across BCE was that they leave this chapter with “confidence in who they are, and excitement for what lies ahead”.
“May you carry forward not just knowledge, but compassion, courage, and a deep sense of purpose,” he said.
“The world needs your light, now it’s your time to go out and make a difference."
Part of something bigger
Unity College, Caloundra Principal Brett Jones also thanked the 2025 graduating class.
“As you step into the next chapter of your journey, please know that there is so much to be excited about,” he said.
“Though you leave the campus, you remain forever part of Unity College and the broader BCE community.”
“Go confidently, knowing that you have what it takes and that we are always here if you need us.”
The undeniable mark of a Catholic education
BCE’s Head of Student Learning and Wellbeing Marisa Dann, said our graduate’s faith, in combination with the wisdom they’ve garnered over their schooling journey, will set them up for life beyond school.
“Whatever our graduates decide to do, whether it be higher education, vocational training, or the workforce, they will carry with them the undeniable mark of a Catholic education, inspired to live with integrity, compassion, and a commitment to service” she said.
“I encourage our graduates to lean on their Catholic education as they forge their path and career and give back to their communities in whatever they choose to do.”
Marisa adds, “I would like to extend my thanks to the parents and carers who nurtured and supported these graduates along their 13-year schooling journey”.
“I would also like to thank the thousands of BCE educators who have taught, challenged and transformed our 2025 graduates, preparing them for life ahead,” she said.
“Congratulations graduates of 2025, your future is waiting for you!”
The Year 12 classes of 2025 were congratulated in graduation ceremonies across BCE’s 29 secondary and 10 Prep to Year 12 schools.
