BCE graduate reflects on his Year 12 schooling journey

As Brisbane Catholic Education (BCE) Year 12 students prepare to graduate this Friday 18 November 2022, Carmel College Thornlands student and Sports Leader Mitchell Lambert reflects on the highs of his senior years and details his plans to continue pursuing his passion for sport after school.

Mitchell Lamber:

Year 12 was the first of the lasts. The last day of classes. The last exam. Through many highs and lows, I couldn’t have asked for a better final year experience at Carmel College, with supportive friends and teachers.

Going forward, I plan to jump straight into university. Next year I will be studying a Bachelor of High-Performance Sport, and I also plan to complete my master’s degree.

My choice to continue studying was because I had such an enjoyable experience in Year 12, with my leadership role a highlight for me.

This year presented me with unique opportunities to step outside of my comfort zone, meet new people and be a role model to other students. My favourite part of the year was seeing the smiles on the faces of my house after leading them to victory at our Athletics Carnival.

My advice for the future senior cohorts to come, is to make sure to take everything as it all goes so quickly and be present in the moment.
