Jacob Sutton a 2021 graduate from Saint Mary’s Catholic College, Kingaroy was recently announced as the Nanango Electorate 2021 Year 12 School Leaver’s Bursary winner by Member for Nanango Deb Frecklington.

The purpose of the School Leavers Bursary is to help make the transition from Year 12 to ongoing training and study more achievable for students and their families.

Saint Mary’s Catholic College Principal Carmel O’Brien said she is extremely proud of Jacob who worked tirelessly throughout his senior year in 2021.

“Having one of my students win such a prestigious award within our region exemplifies what hard workers our students are here at school and in the real world,” Principal O’Brien said.

“This award is the result of a lot of hard work paying off for Jacob and even after leaving school he continues to make our school so proud every step of the way.

“Jacob is now studying a Bachelor of Information Technology through the University of Southern Queensland in Toowoomba, with a goal of working in the cybersecurity industry.

“I would like to thank the Nanango Electorate who had the difficult task of choosing the Bursary winner, and I wish Jacob all the best with his future studies and career ambitions.”
