BCE students take out RACI Titration Competition

​​​Marymount College Burleigh Waters Year 11 and 12 RACi Titration Competition Teams. 

Marymount College Burleigh Waters Year 12 team has taken out 1st place at the annual RACI Titration Competition, with the Year 11 team also placing 3rd at this year’s competition. 
 
Titration is an analytical method used in chemistry to solve an unknown concentration of an acid or base, with the competition testing students’ academically, as well as their practical chemistry skills. 
 
Not only this but the results of the national competition showed the Year 12 and Year 11 team also placed 3rd and 6th overall in Australia. 
 
The two teams consisted of:  
 
Year 12 team: Ava Zahn, Daria Misic, Hannah Yates. 
 
Year 11 team: Lilly Critchley, Talia Balym, Ellari Anderson. 
 
Marymount College Principal Martina Millard said these are truly excellent results, and all her students were awarded a Gold for their efforts. 
 
Marymount students scored extremely well individually in the Queensland Regional competition,” she said. 
 
“Thanks goes to the Marymount Laboratory assistants, Ms Sandra Leu and Mrs Tonia Garner for their hard work behind the scenes. 
 
“A special thanks must also go to Coach of many years, Mrs Jenny Webster, for volunteering her time, effort, and skills. 
 
“I am so very proud of the students and the effort they put in to practicing and competing, congratulations Marymount!”​
