Brisbane Catholic Education (BCE) would like to congratulate all schools for their learning success and achievements during the 33rd annual Queensland Catholic Music Festival (QCMF) (15 to 18 August).
This year, BCE set a new record with 77 schools participating in the festival, where hundreds of talented students showcased their musical abilities to a large audience.
St Columba’s Primary School Principal Andrew Oberthur said the festival was an opportunity for students to learn to play in front of a public audience.
“Playing in public is an important aspect of learning to play music,” he said.
“We have a strong instrumental, choir, piano, and band program at St Columba’s.
“Events like these are an opportunity for our Honours Band Programme, and other student musicians to extend their skills and grow as performers.”
Congratulations to all the choral and instrumental ensembles, as many schools walked away with multiple awards, competing against over 100 schools.
About QCMF:
