ALL Saints’ School students will benefit from a $3.5 million upgrade to their Boonah school including a library extension, with funding announced in time for Queensland School Library Week this week - Monday 13 to Friday 17 February.

The Brisbane Catholic Education (BCE) school will receive the major upgrade as part of the Australian Government’s Capital Grants Program (CGP) for non-government schools.

The CGP funded library extension will not only create more space for students and staff to enjoy their favourite books, but once complete will include new flexible workspaces, a reading corner, break out and digital learning areas, as well as a range of new books and technology, self-funded by the BCE school.

All Saints School Acting Principal Robert Campbell said the library extension will be state-of-the-art.

“The library upgrade will help move our school and community forward by providing a quality learning space which will supersede the offerings of most inner-city schools,” he said.

“Our students will have all of the best and latest books and technology at their fingertips in this new space.

“The library’s digital learning spaces will provide the technology the next generation needs to take their communities forward.”

Mr Campbell added the extension will help the school move away from conventional learning.

“Gone are the days of students sitting in rows,” he said.

“The library will be bright and open plan, with lots of flexible furniture for students to re-configure and improve their academic performances and wellbeing.

The school library extension is part of a larger facilities upgrade, which include a new administration building, new classrooms including a Prep classroom, a multipurpose room, general learning areas, construction of new learning support space, a uniform store, a sports store, a technology area, bathrooms for persons with a disability, and a staff bathroom.

“We welcome new prospective parents who want their children to learn in state-of-the-art spaces which inspire creativity and a love of reading and learning,” the principal added.

The library extension and facilities upgrade are due to be completed by May 2024.
