The extraordinary contributions of staff have been celebrated at Brisbane Catholic Education’s (BCE) annual Excellence Awards.

Special guest His Grace Archbishop Mark Coleridge joined 320 attendees, including winners, finalists, and leadership for the significant event last week (Friday, 16 August) to celebrate staff across BCE’s 146 schools and seven offices.

This year, 379 staff were nominated from across 101 of 146 BCE schools and seven offices for awards celebrating the impactful ways the nominees work to support and nurture the growth of students, including teaching, leading, and mentoring.

BCE Executive Director Dr Sally Towns congratulated the winners and commendations for embodying and imparting our Catholic education faith and values, as well as their commitment to student outcomes.

She said the Excellence Awards were a fantastic way to highlight the exemplary achievements of our people as well as showcase the impactful and innovative programs, projects and scopes of work happening in our community.

“Every day at BCE, our staff create nurturing and inclusive environments where students can thrive academically, spiritually, and morally.

“Teachers and staff members serve as mentors and role models, demonstrating the principles of compassion, integrity, and service in their daily interactions.”

The awards were held at the Brisbane City Hall.

The 2024 BCE Excellence Awards are supported by valued sponsors ‘Teachers Union Health Fund (TUH), NGS Super, Australian Catholic University (ACU), Smartsalary, and Maximus.
