Southern Cross Catholic College has seen “double the success” at their Year 12 graduation on Friday 21 November.

This year, the Scarborough College marked the important milestone with a unique twist, five sets of twins graduating alongside 92 other classmates.

Twins Keira and Travis, Jude and Lula, Brad and Brett, and Chels and Grace also took part in a special photoshoot to commemorate their memorable graduation day.

Jude and Lula

Despite their commonality as twin sets, Year 12 graduate Jude said, “I didn’t know until Year 9 that some of us were twins”.

“None of us are identical twins. We all have different interests, and all have different friendship groups at school from our twins,” he said.

“My twin and I have very different interests.

“I want to pursue aero skills as an aircraft maintenance engineer.

“While Lula has been pursuing her passions as a vet nurse.”

Lula said it has been her dream to work with animals since she was little.

“Completing my Certificate II and Certificate IIII in animal care was more of a passion project for me,” she said.

“While Jude has always been fascinated by how things work.

“Despite our differences, we have supported each other through secondary school, even though our interests are worlds apart.”

Keira and Travis

Influenced by her mother’s hospitality business, Year 12 graduate Keira said she wants to become a chef.

“I have completed my Certificate III in Commercial Cookery,” she said.

“My dream is to become a chef and open my own restaurant, bringing people together through food.”

Keira’s twin Travis, said he wants to become a security technician.

Brad and Bret

Twins Brad and Bret have their sights set on different careers. Brad would like to become a police officer or play in the American football league, while Bret would like to work with animals.

Chels and Grace

While twins Chels and Grace's future plans are also taking shape, Grace intends to pursue teaching, while Chels isn’t yet sure, but she knows she wants to work hard and own her own property one day.

Congratulations to our graduates

Southern Cross Catholic College Principal Christopher Campbell said, “yes, these students are twins, but each has their own unique gifts, talents, and passions”.

“Although they have many commonalities as former Southern Cross Catholic College students, all our graduates will go on to pave their own path in the world,” he said.

“We are proud of all our Year 12 graduates and wish them all the best as they go out into the world as global citizens who give back to their communities.”
