HOLY Spirit School, Bray Park, hosted its biggest Grandparents' Day yet, welcoming more than 300 seniors to a beautifully organised liturgy in the hall to start proceedings.
Year 1 students presented the assembly and a photo-story of pictures of the children and their grandparents was a highlight.
The school choir brought the audience to tears with a song that honoured grandparents, conducted by music teacher and choir master, Nev Smith.
The grandparents then moved to classrooms, to share in the work of the children.
In several year levels, the grandparents told stories to the class about what their time at school was like.
Back in the school hall a morning tea, that included a special celebratory cake, was enjoyed by all the grandparents.
In his address Principal Patrick Dempsey, referred to the fact that grandparents played a vital role in a child's development and thanked them for their presence, both at the school and in their grandchildren's lives.
