School over the coming months survey results

STUDENTS have shared their experience about learning from home in a survey conducted by Brisbane Catholic Education (BCE)'s Student Voice Initiative.
The School Over the Coming Months survey gave BCE students an opportunity to share their views about COVID-19 and learning from home.
The survey findings provide a unique insight into the student experience during this time, highlights what students' felt worked well and shares student ideas about how learning from home could be improved if needed in the future.
Students were invited to provide feedback on the following areas:

  • Learning from home
  • Student safety, support and wellbeing
  • Engagement of student voice in planning

More than 1100 students in Years 6 -12 from a range of BCE schools completed the survey. Students were overwhelmingly positive about the work of teachers and school leaders in quickly working together to ensure that the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on students learning was reduced.
Students shared that while learning from home was very challenging, they understood the health and safety of vulnerable community members needed to be prioritised.
BCE's Professional Standards and Student Protection Team and Student Voice Consultants acknowledged the time and effort committed by all students involved and thanked Student Voice Advocates and other staff members who distributed the survey to students.
